Lowering the Bar

Is achievement and preparedness being claimed to be unfair?

I keep hearing about the need for bars or standards to be lowered. It is being said that this would be beneficial for certain groups of people. It is believed that this premise (as well as others) should be agreed with… no questions asked. The bars being lowered and others wanted lowered are being promoted as legit under the guise of equity, inclusion and diversity “justification”. Really? What does this accomplish? Who does this actually benefit?

Bars or standards have been set for many reasons. Many were put in place as a way to measure preparedness while others were put in place to be challenging thus one may have to step up to meet said challenge. There are standards, requirements or thresholds set for safety, education, attire, skill sets, physical fitness and employment just to name a few.

Can this be a struggle for some? Yes, there may be some who struggle but let me ask a you some questions. Does overcoming a struggle you are faced with make the achievement that much sweeter?

Does preparedness and meeting challenges help to build one’s self confidence, self esteem and self worth? The answer is yes. Although bars are a form of “measurement”, it is not the outside acknowledgment that matters most although it can serve as validation of the achievement. What matters most is the inner surge of positivity that is felt. What is the common denominator of these attributes that can be gained… self-confidence, self-esteem and self-worth? It is the word “self” meaning you. It is real when you accomplish or exceed a set bar or standard.

What should happen for those who struggle with overcoming obstacles that hinder their progress towards reaching a set bar or standard? It is important to note that there is not an one fits all cause because many variables exist thus there is not an one fits all solution. What would help those who want to meet/exceed the bars? What would be beneficial to them? Would it be beneficial to determine the cause on a case by case basis? Would it be beneficial for smaller goals to be incorporated into a process that aids in reaching the set bar? Would it be beneficial for those who struggle to have access to assistance to meet a set bar? (ex. tutor)

Would it be better to just lower the bar instead? Who actually benefits from this?

In reality, does lowering the bar help a person learn, grow and evolve? Lowering the bar creates a falsehood as does the concept of equity, inclusion and diversity being used to promote it. What is a falsehood? What is it to present a falsehood? As previously discussed.. a falsehood creates an illusion. To present a falsehood thus presents an illusion. An illusion is not real. Be consciously aware. Do not fall prey to the illusion being presented and promoted.

Promote truth so that each One is aware that the power to change one’s life begins with the choice to. Let it be known that circumstance does not determine one’s life… one’s choices do.

It can take discipline and hard work to meet or exceed set bars or standards for what you want but isn’t it worth it? These days merit and achievement which were basic thresholds in society are being sidelined. The promotion of merit and achievement is being demonized as well as those who have it. When bars are discussed, it seems much of the discussion is about privilege or lack there of… a talking point misconstrued to fit a narrative designed to prompt a desired reaction. Standards, requirements and basic thresholds were implemented for a need based on the time and energy in which they were created. It may be found that standards implemented 10, 20, 30, 40, 50+ years ago, are outdated in this time and energy as much has changed. However, one would think that these standards would rise not lower based on that premise. Achievement is beneficial to the individual as well as the whole.

Final Thoughts

Please know that the lowering of bars does nothing to help you, the individual or the human race. To evolve, one needs to increase or raise one’s vibrational level which in turn helps to raise that of the whole. How is this done? It is done by striving for the higher standards not settling for any lower ones. This applies to you… personally, socially, professionally and spiritually. As it applies to you, it applies to the world. Think about who actually benefits from the bars being lowered. However tempting this process may seem, it is NOT you who benefits at any level.
