Another election season has come and gone. The political rallies are no more. The political ads no longer appear in the media. What remains is an aftermath of emotion. There is positive emotion and there is negative emotion. I have heard about and seen reactions from both sides. Just like with every election before this one… it is time. It is time again for the application of something that may not yet be of one’s mindset due to the experience of high emotion.

That something is feeling, dealing and healing. This is a time for grounding to help with the processing of emotions. This is a time of reflection to help with the process of perspective. This is a time of cleansing to help with the process of release. This is a time for the balancing or rebalancing of one’s self and of society. This is a time of healing for the care of self and care of the country. As a nation, it is a time for those who are in favor of and those who were not in favor of the one elected to embrace the common ground that exists as citizens and shift the focus.
Politics ought not be a substantial divider of people in every aspect of life. Politics ought not be the basis of one’s relationships. Politics ought not be the made the foundation of one’s life. I do not believe that politics was meant to be what it has grown to become. Unfortunately, it has been allowed to become a deal breaker, relationship ender and a family destroyer. Hard divides and family disputes have taken place over political differences. As a matter of perspective I ask this question… isn’t politics similar to sports with a winner, loser and opposing fans? A game that is played where family members are opposing fans, does the losing team’s family fans disown the winning team’s family fans? How about this scenario with friends? I hope the answer to those questions is no.
Doesn’t the same principle apply to politics? You hear that politics is a nasty business and with any competition, good sportsmanship is a key component. From what I have seen, this key component is lacking in society. What happened to having the ability to lose a competition just as graceful as to win one? Has it been forgotten? Has it not been taught? Has it not been learned? It needs remembered, taught, learned and most of all, exhibited. Just because you are at odds in one area does not mean you are at odds in all areas of life. Put politics back in its place.
You have the power to change where the focus lies in your relationships. There is more to life than politics. There is so much more that can be talked about. There are more important things to share with one another. There are more similarities than differences to embrace in this life. You have the power to control what you allow to “trigger” you. You have the power to control what you are exposed to. You have the power to agree to disagree. You have the power to compromise. Do not allow politics or the politics of others dictate who is or isn’t in your life.
You have the power over you if you choose to have it.
Blessings of Love & Light,
